What precautions do I need to take when having a bath or swimming at the beach or pool when pregnant?

I am not sure about the do's and dont's.

Thank you. What precautions do I need to take when having a bath or swimming at the beach or pool when pregnant?
Swimming is actually a great way to exercise while you are pregnant. The only thing you have to worry about is not too have the water super hot when taking a bath, no hot tubs, and don't sit in the tub once your water breaks. (Unless you are doing a water birth in a controlled environment). What precautions do I need to take when having a bath or swimming at the beach or pool when pregnant?
Swimming is wonderful exercise (while pregnant or not). The only precautions my doctor warned of were:

1.) DON'T take toooooo hot of a bath or sit in a hot tub. The heat will raise your body temperature, and it's bad for the fetus.

2.) As long as your mucus plug is still in-tact, you can take baths, swim, etc. If it isn't in place, you have to be careful sitting in water because of the chances of bacteria entering.
As long as your water hasn't broken, you don't really need to take any precautions. The only things I can think of off hand are a) NO diving; and b) no hot tubs. Other than that, you should be fine. If your water breaks, you shouldn't submerge yourself in ANY water (including the bath tub) and you risk introducing bacteria to your baby, and he can get very sick.
you just aren't supposed to stay in very hot water for a long time. as far as the beach, use sunscreen and stay hydrated! sometimes pregnancy hormones can make your skin blotch, so you might want to wear a big hat or loose coverings as well.
I swam my entire pregnancy and it alleviated the pressure...it was the best thing I could have done!

It is ok to swim. It is super easy on the joints as well!
just dont get in hot water or get in the pool/bath after your water has broken.
