i think either is fine but depends on the body that's in the suit. if she has a little extra weight than a suit would probably compliment her more, yet depending on the bikini it can make her look trashy, therefore its like clothing wear what works for you and you feel best in.
2 piece bikinis show confidence... if you wear one in public it shows people that you like your body and youre happy with how you look.
1 piece bathing suits gives the impression you want to hide your body, especially if you wear shorts over them...
i guess the bathing suit is a 1 piece? well i and most guys like bikinis because they show alot more skin... and a 1 piece is like what my mom wears... you don't want to be seen as a mom!

i dont know i dont really think any different between the two mostly because iv seen both plenty of times and its not like it matters
I'm sure a guy changes what type of swimsuit he wishes a girl was wearing by the girl's body type.
