I dunno if i should bath my german shepherd after i take it too the beach because its furs all salty and sometimes has sand through it what should i do?Should i bath my german shepherd after the beach?
You could just rinse it off with a hose and some water to get the ocean water off of it and the sand out of the fur. Should i bath my german shepherd after the beach?
Yes i would. When we took our pointer and catahoula to Dog Beach in San Diego, they got so full of sand and seaweed and whatever else was in the sand, so we made sure to wash them off with shampoo and conditioner. I would definitely give your GSD to good thorough bath. He will appreciate it. Sand can be abrasive and seawater can dry out the skin.
If it smells bad sure. Bathing never hurt anything. Also I doubt the sand and salt is very comfortable for the dog. And you never know what nasty things come from the beach. Just think about how many people poop in the water. Think about all those bacteria and dead particles of sea creatures. Lots of other bodily fluids.
So anyway, bathing can't hurt, can it?
